Born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, Bryan grew up in an “independent, fundamental, pre-millennial, King James only” legalistic church. For reasons the Lord knows best, He chose that particular culture for his upbringing. Throughout his entire childhood, devotion to the church, consistent engagement with God’s Word, and exposure to worldwide missions were tremendous benefits. At the age of five, he received Christ into his heart for salvation and he then confirmed it completely in his mind and heart at the age of 25.
Bryan attended college at Wichita State University (WSU) on a music scholarship as a violinist and violist and went on to play semi-professionally in several regional orchestras.
While at WSU, he met his now-wife, Gayle, and was privileged to be used by the Lord for her salvation. They have been married since 1978. The Lord chose for them to not have children and they have been content with the Lord’s choice ever since.
One of the most important connections in Bryan’s life happened in 1979 when he met Bruce Bell, former missionary to Mexico and El Salvador, and then pastor of an independent Baptist church in Wichita, and who is presently a missionary to Mexico. Through the Lord’s use of Bruce’s influence, Bryan’s and Gayle’s marriage was put on solid ground, and continues to be a bedrock relationship upon which the Lord has shaped both of their lives.
While in Wichita, Bryan and Gayle gave themselves to the Lord for fulltime Christian service as missionaries, which was the heart-decision that the Lord wanted. But He had plans that did not include going overseas.
During the time under Bruce’s ministry, Bryan was introduced to Don McCurry, a former missionary to the Muslim world and even now (he is almost 93 as of 2020) still working to train Christians around the world to reach Muslims. It was the walk with the Lord that Don had that God used to foster a type of spiritual restlessness that wanted more from the Lord, or of the Lord, something “mystical,” something that would satisfy Bryan’s heart. That was the beginning of what has continued to be a lifelong mystical relationship with his Heavenly Father through the work of the Holy Spirit and the indwelling of Jesus Christ.
Eventually ending up in Denver, Colorado in 1988, Bryan began an entrepreneurial business track that he’s been on ever since. For more than 25 years, through his company, Integrity Services Global, Bryan has been a business consultant, strategic and succession planner, executive coach, and creative/business writer for a myriad of companies, non-profit organizations, intercollegiate athletics organizations, entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals.
Since 1993, Bryan has been on an intense and dynamic spiritual journey into intimacy and oneness with the heart of God. The catalysts for this journey were threefold:
While commuting long-distance in 1993, Bryan was conversing with the Lord about the meaning of his life. During that conversation, God clearly communicated to him, “If I just want you to be My friend, isn’t that enough?” As a result, the Lord cultivated an unquenchable thirst for more than just more doctrinal knowledge and obedient service – his heart wanted more.
On June 27, 1996, while reading the Psalms, Bryan read Psalm 27:14, and came across the phrase, “wait upon the Lord.” His first response was, “What’s does ‘waiting’ mean?” Then began an extremely challenging year as the Lord began to teach him this most essential truth.
In December 1996, Don McCurry had a word from the Lord for Bryan, which was, “You need to be your own man before the Lord and not simply a reflection of the teaching of others.”
These three direct revelations by God to Bryan--in conversation, through the Word, and via a friend--have served to launch him into a never-ending journey into intimate oneness with the Lord.
Since 2003, Bryan has been a teaching elder in Denver area churches and currently attends a multi-ethnic, inter-denominational church in Aurora.
Business and ministry travels since 2008 have taken him to South Sudan, Kenya, Haiti, Peru, Belize, Thailand, and Libya.
Bryan continues his services as a business consultant, as well as working on new ideas for books, seminars and classes.
